START WITH YOUR PRIORITY
What matters most
to you?
You do not need every treatment. Start with the outcome you want, then refine the scope around your car, your driving and your budget.
YOUR STARTING POINT
Clear paint protection film
Start with the areas exposed to your driving: a full front, selected high-contact areas, or the whole vehicle. Clear PPF keeps the underlying colour visible while adding a physical protective layer.
Discuss your paint condition and coverage. PPF reduces risk; it cannot prevent every chip or impact.

| What to compare | G’ZOX coatings Class M / Quartz 9 | Clear PPF | Colour PPF | Colour-change vinyl |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Main purpose | Gloss, water behaviour and easier maintenance. | Physical protection with the paint colour visible. | Physical protection with a colour or finish change. | A new colour, texture or visual style. |
| What is applied? | A liquid treatment that cures into a glass-like surface layer. | A transparent protective polyurethane film. | A coloured protective polyurethane film; confirm the exact product. | A coloured or textured vinyl film. |
| Stone-chip protection | Not a substitute for PPF’s impact barrier. | Designed to help resist chips and minor abrasion. | Designed for protection as well as colour. | Do not assume ordinary styling vinyl offers PPF-level chip resistance. |
| Appearance | Enhances the existing finish; does not change paint colour. | Clear gloss or alternative finishes, depending on the film. | A new colour and finish, subject to product availability. | Colour, texture and accent options, subject to the selected range. |
| Self-healing? | Do not assume a coating will repair scratches. Check the exact product and type of damage. | Some films can recover from minor surface marks. | Available in some products; verify the specific film. | Not a general feature to assume for vinyl. |
| Ongoing attention | Regular washing and suitable maintenance. | Wash carefully; protect edges and monitor damage. | Film care plus attention to the selected finish. | Finish-specific washing; matte and textured films need particular care. |
| Best first question | “Do I prefer sheeting or pronounced water beading?” | “Which areas are exposed in my driving?” | “Do I want a new colour and physical protection together?” | “Which look do I want, and what edges will remain visible?” |
Based on G’ZOX Japan’s coating guide, XPEL’s clear-film technical sheet and 3M Australia’s wrap guidance. Features vary by product. The vinyl/PPF comparison reflects their different intended uses.
